Supercompensation : Post-load rebound

Load

After a training load followed by adequate recovery, the body rebuilds slightly above its previous baseline.

Supercompensation is the core mechanism of endurance progression: you load (TSB drops), you recover (TSB rises), and if the timing is right, you come back stronger than before. Too little recovery and you stay fatigued. Too much and the benefit is lost. Three-week load plus one-week taper cycles exploit this mechanism repeatedly to build long-term fitness (CTL).

In TriPaced:

In TriPaced, the plan's periodization (load weeks + rest week) is designed to trigger supercompensation at the right time. A positive TSB during race week reflects exactly this rebound: you arrive rested but not detrained.
