A cool-down means continuing light Z1 effort for 5-15 minutes after the main block. It helps clear lactate, gradually lowers heart rate, and reduces next-day soreness. In triathlon, the bike-to-run transition can serve this role if the pace is very easy.

In TriPaced, session cards include a 5-15 min cool-down based on session intensity. Recovery sessions don't need one: they are already entirely in Z1.
