Acclimatisation

Load

Physical adaptation process to a new environment (heat, altitude, time zone) before competition.

Heat acclimatisation (30 C, 70% humidity in full sun) requires roughly 10-14 days of training in those conditions for the body to increase plasma volume, improve sweating efficiency, and lower heart rate at a given effort. Arriving 2 weeks before race day in the race location is the ideal approach for an Ironman in a hot environment.

In TriPaced:

In TriPaced, the Race A card shows average climate data for your race venue (air/water temperature, humidity) to help you plan your arrival date and final heat training sessions.
