Pacing : Race pace management
RunEffort distribution strategy over a race to avoid blowup and maximize performance.
Pacing is the art of distributing energy optimally over the duration of an effort. Starting the Ironman bike too fast leads to a run collapse; being too conservative leaves time on the table. The optimal strategy for Ironman is typically 'even split' (steady pace) or a slight negative split (slight acceleration in the second half of the run). In swimming, pacing depends on start position; on the bike, it is controlled via normalized power (NP) or heart rate.
In TriPaced:
In TriPaced, the plan indicates target pace and HR zone for each race segment. Bike pacing advice (target IF, target NP) is integrated into simulated competition sessions.
