Long-distance triathlon glossary·Drill

Drill : Isolated technique drill

Run

Drill focusing on one specific aspect of swim, run or cycling technique.

A drill breaks the full movement into sub-components to work them in isolation. Classic swim drills include catch-up (extended front arm), fingertip drag (high elbow awareness), and side-kick drills. Running drills: high knees, butt kicks, high skips. Cycling: single-leg pedalling circles. Drills don't replace full swimming or running but build new neuromuscular patterns that integrate gradually.

In TriPaced:

In TriPaced, technique sessions include prescribed drill blocks at the start of swim sessions or run warm-ups. They are included in session TSS with a low intensity factor.
