Compression : Compression garments

Intensity

Socks, sleeves or tights applying graduated pressure to limbs to speed up recovery.

Compression garments exert graduated mechanical pressure from ankle toward knee (or wrist toward shoulder). This promotes venous return, reduces muscle micro-vibration during effort and may limit post-exercise soreness. Performance benefits are debated (likely placebo during competition), but recovery benefits (post-effort wear 2-3 h) are better documented. In racing, compression socks also help prevent cramping over long distances.

In TriPaced:

In TriPaced, recovery tips include wearing compression socks after long sessions. Race equipment (wetsuit, compression socks) is covered in gear preparation tips.
