Long-distance triathlon glossary·Dropbag

Dropbag : gear bag staged in the transition area

Intensity

The bag holding all your gear by discipline, dropped off the day before.

At an Ironman or 70.3, the organization mandates labeled bags: "bike gear bag" (helmet, glasses, bike nutrition), "run gear bag" (shoes, cap, gels), sometimes "street wear bag" (post-race clothes). Each bag must be self-sufficient : no trips back to the car.

In TriPaced:

TriPaced doesn't yet ship a dropbag checklist (V2). Worth doing for your first long-distance race: build the list two weeks out, duplicate critical items (glasses, gels), and open the bike bag the evening before to mentally rehearse.
